Showroom Refresh: Concept 32 Partners with Local Designer for Custom Wallpaper

By Jay Hawkinson

At Concept 32, great design is about more than cabinetry. It’s about the full experience of a space: how materials, texture, color, and craftsmanship come together to create something memorable.

That’s why we’re excited to share a fresh update to our Longmont showroom: three of our vignettes now feature original wallpapers by Colorado surface pattern designer and interior decorator Gabrielle Hewson.

After discovering Gabrielle’s work, our team immediately saw how her expressive patterns and rich color stories could elevate the cabinetry displays that designers, builders, and homeowners come to experience in our showroom. We selected three of her designs that best aligned with our collections and the aesthetic preferences of our clients. The result? A striking transformation.

Why Wallpaper Matters in a Cabinetry Showroom

Custom cabinets, closets spaces and storage are the backbone of a beautifully functional area but the finishes around it tell the rest of the story. Wallpaper adds emotion, depth, and character in a way paint simply can’t. Plus a lot more homeowners and interior designers are moving towards wallpaper again to accent their beautifully designed homes.

By pairing our cabinetry with Gabrielle’s patterns, we’re able to show visitors how thoughtful design elements work together:

  • Bold motifs that create a true focal point

  • Textural botanicals that introduce softness

  • Mood-rich colorways that shift the energy of the entire room

These refreshed vignettes help inspire clients and design professionals as they imagine their own projects and demonstrate how cabinetry and surfaces can work in harmony.

A Local Collaboration Built on Craft

This project came together with the help of talented local partners. Our design team assisted in selecting patterns for each vignette, ensuring every choice felt intentional and balanced. Gabrielle created exactly what we wanted using her unique patterns. For installation, we worked with Josh Buelo of Honed Ltd., a skilled professional specializing in residential and commercial wallpaper. His craftsmanship and attention to detail ensured each space looks flawless.

At Concept 32, we believe in supporting local designers, artists, and craftspeople. Collaborations like this not only enrich our showroom, they strengthen the creative community we’re proud to be a part of in Northern Colorado.
